Application Guidelines

  • All films must have been produced in a course in the Digital Filmmaking program.
  • All films must have full credits following the UCI DigiFilm Credit Sequence Guidelines
  • All films must have full music clearances following the 
  • By submitting the film, the filmmaker agrees to attend the UCI Showcase at Newport Beach Film Festival
  • By submitting the film, the filmmaker agrees to provide press materials, and participate in interviews to promote the showcase
  • Deadline, Friday February 28

2. Deliver to Grant Speich a folder labeled: Last First - Film Title
inside this folder, place the following two subfolders:

FILM
(inside this folder place a copy of your film, following these guidelines)

  • file name: Last First - Film Title.mov
  • ProRes 422
  • 1920x1080
  • 24p (23.98)
  • Audio - AAC or WAV
  • preliminary credits must comply with the Credit Sequence Guideline

STILLS
(inside this folder place 3 film stills for program/publicity in both JPG and TIF formats, following these guidelines)

  • file names: Last First - Film Title - 01 RGB.jpg, Last First - Film Title - 01 CMYK.tif, etc.
  • avoid overly dark images that don't print well
  • file name: Last FirstName - Title
  • 1920x1080
  • 2 versions - (RGB, 72 dpi, jpg) & (CMYK, 300 dpi, tiff)
  • to create CMYK TIFF File
    • import to Photoshop, go to Image>Mode> select CMYK.
    • then, go to Image>Image Size...>change resolution to 300dpi, then change width to 6 inches, press OK
    • go to FILE>Save As...>under Format, select TIFF, press SAVE
